You know it’s interesting her songwriting has gotten better and she actually said in an interview that she took like a writing class or two at a university (I think specifically was a poetry class). But she said that really helped her songwriting.

I absolutely love the editing on this. The way the lyrics pop up, the way the song titles look like they’re part of the background, the little notes added to give context to what Blake is saying, and just the cuts and zoom ins are amazing. John, this is great.

When I heard her punk rock/pop rock songs on sour, I was so scared she wouldn’t continue that sound because it wasn’t the public’s favorite, but I am so happy that this album is heavily influenced by that sound. It just goes to show that she really took risks with this album and it absolutely payed off!

Nobody delivers a witty one liner quite like this chick. I don’t typically like pop music but Olivia continues to blow me away. And I’ll be honest, I didnt love this after the first listen. Thought SOUR was better. And then I listened again. And again. And holy shit does it just get better and richer and more dynamic and nuanced with every listen. 10/10. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard an artist emote better. The pain in her voice during the softer moments is pretty fucking gut wrenching.
