I have just googled up on Ian Lavender his real name was Arthur Ian Lavender He went by his second name Ian as a stage name he was the last remaining cast member of Dad's Army and a good actor

I loved Michael Jayston. I had a huge crush on him when I was a teenager. I remember him most for his portrayal of Mr Rochester in the BBC’s largely ignored 1973 version Of Jane Eyre which in my opinion was the ,most faithful to the book. He had a wonderful voice.
