This scene gave me nightmares as a kid. Now I find it hilarious. Especially the dog running in and biting the owl's leg. Oh and Edmond saying he's a furry. Little did they know.

This is honestly by far one of my favourite childhood movies of all time, and probably my favourite movie of all time. I remember watching this as a kid during my childhood, and throughout the years and even now I can't help myself in thinking about it, and even watching this, listening to the songs, soundtracks or just recalling my childhood. Literally what a legendary song this is, same thing with the story behind it, the characters, the actors, the soundtracks, music and much more. Like every scene of the movie is just pure joy and emotion, same thing with its music. Even as I'm writing this I'm getting so much nostalgia and childhood memories of watching this and listening to this as a kid. Even to this day, this movie and its story still brings me to joy as well as tears to my eyes especially with the way I grew up and the very first time I saw it, like I could just keep going on and on about how much this movie means to me even to this day. There's honestly so much words that I could possibly describe it, but to get it you honestly have to feel it since it just bring so much joy, emotion, feelings and much more. Like it honestly wouldn't even fit this box, I wouldn't even have any more characteristics to describe it. Like honesty, its one of my all-time favourite movies since I was a kid during my childhood and its honestly nice to see that this film also did the same to many others, especially with my generation. Like even now, its so rare to find anyone else that watched it, or even finding it in general. Glad that I still have the original cassete for it, since my childhood when I first watched it as a kid. Like even now as I'm listening to this like I said earlier, it just sad how time just passes by so fast and you don't even realize it. Such an extremely underrated film this was, like nowadays its like a hidden treasure since even Google Play doesn't have it. Only orignals like us have the original cassette for it and I'm real glad that I got to watch it on cassette as a kid, and still have it till this day. Its even more sad, that all these legends that made our childhood pass, but like they always say time doesn't stop, it just keeps going on and on. Don't bad sad that its over, be happy that it happened. Such good times this was, and such a throwback to my childhood. Just pure nostalgia and childhood memories as well. At least it can somewhat still be found on Youtube, even though there isn't much Youtube videos of its song, soundtracks, movie, and etc. Its literally a long lost treasure that people like us got to experience it only which just makes it even more special. Not only that but no matter how many years passed, this song never ages and never gets old. It still brings back the first time I've ever heard it, watched it, experienced it, ithe pure emotion, joy, and etc. LIke they honestly just don't make movies like these anymore, especially songs like these. Kids nowadays don't even understand how much movies like these meant to us. That's what makes it so unique, special and iconic for all of us. This is literally my childhood especially Chanticleer & Glen Cambell how he was able to pull off being like the King of Rock N' Roll, Elvis. I remember even trying to dress up like Chanticleer by having my shirt out, dangle and etc. Such good times. There's just so much to say, describe and feel. Even the front cover of the cassette brings back so many memories when I look at it from time to time.

1:41 l, I love how the animators made it where The Dukes Magic spread, and turned the live action into cartoon. This was clever. 😀

I like how The Duke is basically the Great Owls Neutral/Chaotic-Evil, Shakespearean, magic-breathing, over-dramatic cousin! And RIP Christopher Plummer.

Curious thing I just noticed: Rock-A-Doodle has many strong parallels with the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy and Edmund both grow up on a farm. Both are dreamers with strong imaginations. Both are confronted with a natural disaster that threatens their homes. Both may or may not have ended up in a coma due to getting hurt during the disaster. Their transition into a dreamlike journey to retrieve something precious (returning to their home and rebuilding it) is represented by a transition in the art style. The Wizard of Oz goes from sepia tones to color, Rock-A-Doodle goes from live acting to animation. Both face dangerous, powerful magicians as their antagonists, acquire quirky but lovable and loyal friends to aid in their journey, and travel to a great, impressive city to meet an important "king" (the Wizard/Chauntecleer). Both must end up confronting a great truth (Dorothy realizes how much home and her family meant to her, while Edmund realized that to save his farm, he must find bravery in himself) and then confront and defeat the magician chasing them in order to return home. Both are met with skepticism by friends and family when they awaken home and find everything as it should be and tell their story.
