SB19 performs "Mana" live on the Wish 107.5 Bus! The song title is short for "mananaggal," a Philippine mythical creature that the P-pop act used as a metaphor to describe how they will stay grounded while they reach for — and realize — their dreams.

for the casuals who might get confused why they're singing about manananggals: the song is about humility and '(MANA)nanggal' was used as a metaphor to say that even though they're soaring high (just like manananggal's half body up the sky) SB19 will always keep their feet on the ground (lower body) and they will never forget to come back to their roots just like when manananggals get back to their bodies. on the first verse "hindi ba mahiwaga? 'di mo kilala nung nasa lupa pa" means how some people weren't acknowledging them before... "DI MO KILALA nung NASA LUPA pa" kinda self explanatory. AND "di mo ba ako nami-miss?" ("don't you miss me?") they're probably mocking those people who only remembered them after they got famous. they replied with "nah. i'd rather half my body go missing" on the bridge "aswang ba kaya kinakatakutan?" they're basically asking why some are so afraid of people like them who fly high but keep grounded. are they monsters? or dahil ba they bring something new to the table na hindi sanay ang nakararami? (alam niyo naman tingin ng karamihan dito sa ppop diba? lalo na yung mga close minded na napag lipasan na ng panahon) and lastly "wag mong kakatulugan kung hindi—" they're telling you not to sleep on them/their craft AND diba sa gabi rin umaatake mga "(MANA)nanggal" kaya wag mong kakatulugan :) ANYWAY THERE'S STILL A LOT (AS IN MADAMI PA!) TO ANALYZE PERO BAKA KASI MAY MAG-TAKA KUNG BAT MAY "MANANANGGAL" SA LYRICS KASI DI NAMAN KADALASAN NAGAGAMIT YAN SA LYRICS DITO SA PINAS. i know MAPA is the general public's fave song from their "pagsibol" album but for me etong MANA talaga ang best song !!! from its lyricism na hindi mo agad-agad maiintindihan unless i-dissect to its beat to its overall production and eerie vibes haaay *chef's kiss* best b-side ever 😭
