People who are not farmers don't understand how much damage is done by, campers, dog walkers etc. If there are animals on that land, diseases could be spead by the people from other land they have visited which can cause a lot of problems, heartache and expense for farmers, picnicers and sightseeers frequently leave litter behind them which can be eaten by stock or wildlife and cause sickness or death. Dogs can cause fright in animals, even if they don't activley chase them, the farmer in the programme has sheep which can abort their lambs if scared by dogs. If the trespasers were to lose something that they had invested in, cared for and that was their livelyhood, how would they feel? What would they think if Mary and her son drove their sheep through the trespassers house and garden, ruining their year's work? Mary and her family have th law on their side AND the moral right, There would soon be a panic if farmers stopped producing food

Personally, the land shouldn't have been put on the market in the first place. The Dartmoor trust should have bought it.
Weve got a caravan in Tavistock (literally just over the road from here) and there are plenty of places for walkers. I agree with the guy that said, it seems people were only interested once it had been privately sold.
How about all the protesters club together and buy it, then they can have the public liability of injury hanging over them

I still watching the program, might change my mind by the end. What got me is, a bloke from London can just go were ever he wants because he has feel for the place like other do.
So he can just wander about it my garden if he want to ? Like hell, there would be a war. I have feel for Buckingham Palace I go down with other have a wander about. The police would be could I would get done for Tress passing.
Leave the farmers and there land be. My house is my castle and no one should just turn up because they feel Spiritual.
How can someone have a meeting with another person who doesnāt own the land at all.
The land own should be fined for pour sticky oil on the rock and painting on the rocks. Defacing such a beautiful natural Rock.
Rock climber do hammer big spikes in to hold the ropes. Both of these are bad for this natural beautiful place

In Norway with all the stunning nature, we have Free roaming rights made by the government long time ago. The national treasure our mountains, fjords, forest and beaches are open for the public. It s called : Ferdselsretten, means the rights to roam, hike. But we are very trained to not ruin or litter our beautiful outdoors. There are farmers with their land, but we are allowed to be in the forests even if the farmer owns the woods. We respect fences, but there are clear rules landowners must follow and there are not allowed to fence in beaches for example. You can google it . About Norways Ferdselsrett, the right to roam. Alot of tourists in our mountains, but also alot of space. More private landowners in UK maybe, traditional the rich and royal ownes much land.

Ok itās her property legally agreed , why donāt they all sign a waver weāre if anyone gets hurt on the Tor then itās no oneās responsibility? Mary is just asked to allow emergency vehicle access if someone is hurt of course. It doesnāt appear she needs money , but of course itās possible she wants entry fee

This is ridiculous. She PAID for the land. She OWNS it. National parks, or local association and/or 'friends of' should've bought it. - - I do find it a bit sad that it's not enjoyable to the public, but no one did anything to ensure that.
