For history: on February 24, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine, and a few hours later Belarus also attacked Ukraine.

I'm British, and last night I was in a British pub, where Ukrainians, Slovakians, English and Polish people were all singing this song! This is truly a song that crosses borders.

I'm from Hungary. Since I was a little boy my father told me stories about Polish history and Polish Hungarian friendship. He showed me this song, and I loved it soo much so I learned the whole song in Polish. One mounth ago I went to an Erasmus+ program in Poland. One evening while we drinking with the poles, they started to sing this song so I sang this song too. The reaction on their faces was priceless 😊. We sang the whole night together. This was one of best memories of my life. The Polish Hungarian friendship got a new meaning in my life. Thank you brothers.😊 Lengyel Magyar két jó barát! 🇵🇱♥️🇭🇺

Fun fact: the Polish version is actually performed by Ukrainian a cappella band Pikkardiyska Tertsiya. The Ukrainian one is performed by Włodzimierz Wermiński. The Russian version is performed by a German singer.

It's funny, but I am Ukrainian, but I have listened to Polish version so many times, that I accidentally start singing it in Polish whenever I do it. Just cannot do it in Ukrainian anymore. I speak Polish well, hence it's not a big deal, but when I sing with someone, who sing in Ukrainian, it makes them crazy. Happy Independence Day, by the way, to all Polish people. Thank you for support! Chwała Polsce!

I'm 16 soon and I remember how all my childhood my parents sang this song as a lullaby. My father is German and my mother is Polish. now they sing songs to my younger brothers and sisters.

I think it's a Polish-Ukrainian song rather than just Ukrainian or Polish

As a German, I am a bit astonished about the existence of a German version, at all. Honestly, I've never heard this song before. Nevertheless, strength to the Ukrainian people, find peace, you deserve it! 🤜🏼🤛🏼

English translation: Hey falcons! [Title] Somewhere from beneath that black water A young uhlan mounts his horse He tenderly bids farewell to his girl Even more tenderly to the Ukraine (refrain:) Hey, hey, hey falcons Pass the mountains, forests, pits Ring, ring, ring my little bell In the steppe Ring, ring, ring Sorry, sorry for the girl For the green Ukraine Sorry, sorry, one's heart is weeping I'll never see you again (refrain) She, she remained there My little swallow, my baby In the green Ukraine At my beloved girl's place (refrain) Wine, wine, wine, wine – give it to me And when I die bury me In the green Ukraine At my beloved girl's place (refrain)
