Fun fact: The crash dummies weren't just a series of PSAs. The success of those ads eventually led to a licensed toy line, which I believe is where "Junk Man" and that professor character originated. The toys were then successful enough to get a TV special based on them, but I think the games are specifically an adaptation of the toy line, not the animated special. Weird franchise, huh?

Congrats to pootrain for holding the speed run record on this game. I guess that's like saying that you have the record for fastest time you can kick your own ass?

THIS game is one of my rental nightmares. I had the toys, loved how they exploded apart, and thought the game was gonna be a lot of fun. Holy crap was I wrong obviously. I don't even remember beating the first stage as a kid. Years later I saw a cart at a convention and knew I had to prove myself as an adult. What I proved is I am still not good enough to beat stage 1.... But now I have the cartridge to haunt my shelf. Love the channel so much, thank you for all the reviews!

One day, Summoning Salt will release "The Quest to Beat Pootrain." I cannot wait!

I think he's supposed to be saying "Cuh-RASH!" (because crash dummy, get it?), but it's way funnier to imagine him saying "Your ass!" instead.

Man, I was obsessed with the toys as a kid. Smashing the car and putting it all back together never got old. At least as far as Crash Dummies games go, there was a really good one on Game Boy, Master System and Game Gear!

The evolution and creativity of the chords you sing in the intro makes me laugh so much, thank you 😭

The toys were a blast - I remember getting the cars, the crash test center, etc. We would set up the family camera, film the crashes, and then watch them back in slow-mo. Ah, the 90s.

Somewhere Pootrain is shedding a tear. “They finally recognized me!”

I remember trying this game when I was a kid. I found it incredibly difficult, but so much fun I kept trying anyway, despite very little progress.

The Pootrains are actually one of the old speed running families out of New Orleans. Storied history but some dark stains in their past as you might imagine…

Make a drinking contest for every time SNESDrunk says "No, not THAT [proper noun]!"

I still own a copy of this game from my childhood. Never quite reached the final boss, but remember getting into the final levels as a kid. Game was very hard with some dubious design for sure, but I've played worse games.

I had the GB version & every level was a different genre of games, I loved it as a kid 😊

Lol 😂I watched this like a month ago and just now re-watching got the Crash Test Dummies band reference to Peter Pumpkinhead. I think I was confused by it at first, and had it rolling around somewhere in my head unconsciously. Anomaly resolved!Brain feels satisfied now! 😂 Also, “hats off” to Pootrain made me think of the plastic hospital poop sample “hats” that fit in the toilet. Some nurse/s called it that!
