The restart at the beginning usually happens when the game updates while the auto save has an active job. Since the game update changes are based on real life road construction and road networking, they do that to avoid compatibility issues in the off-chance and active save is where there would not longer be an accessible road or road section which has the ability to break saves.
However, would recommend buying workers and their own trucks to get some of that passive income for Truckiplier which stacks quickly. Every time you rest is another payday. Part of the reason this game gets pretty addicting.
