I don't understand how people find this album forgettable, I think the melodies, the grooves are stronger, and while the production is not as good as on Currents it is more focused and centered than on albums like Lonerism and Currents. I think also this album is much more thematically layered and detailed in terms of lyrics and storytelling than on projects like Currents. For an album that's 6 minutes longer than the other Tame Impala albums, it sure took out all the filler of those projects and Kevin made something that is smooth, and a rush that I never want to end.

BORDERLINE IS SO OVERLOOKED. Itās a brilliant song. Listen again with headphones. Also breathe deeper is revolutionary. Whatās great about Kevinās music is thereās a piece of all of his music that appeals to a lot of different people. What you like about his music like saying āthe less I know the betterā being your favorite song off currents, just furthers the argument since it is catchy at first listen, though what resonates with me more deeply is his songs that are deeper in meaning and complexity like let it happen, and new person same old mistakes. Instant destiny, Breathe deeper, borderline, and one more hour are the ones that grow on you since thereās layers to constantly explore. And is it true is a banger. To each their own with their relationship to music.

This album definitely needs a few listens for sure. It's definitely one less focused on pop hits and more focused on telling a story. Does it slap as hard as Lonerism or Currents? No i wouldn't say so, I'd say this album is more in line with Innerspeaker, where a full listen helps the overall experience. Some of the far more simple tracks on the album genuinely strike me as the better ones, Kevin's moving into the pop scene for sure, but I hope he doesn't lose what made him special to begin with.
Overall though, I still love it, it's Tame Impala.

This album grew on me so much to the point that I adore it completely now. First listen I was pretty underwhelmed but after absorbing it more I grew to love it and find that the themes and concepts are explored perfectly through a very uniquely sounding musical palette that clearly stands out from his last albums and I love that, I love that each album of his has itās own unique flare. Personally Iām pretty in love with this album already
