In my opinion this is the song that defines Kid A. Dark, hopeless and almost alien.

This was the first contemporary song I ever heard. Growing up my family lived apart from other families. I just thought that was how people were. About the only time I heard something different was the radio in the car. My dad would always turn it to the classic rock station, because "they stopped making good music after the cold war ended". I genuinely thought that there had been some kind of war or catastrophe that had knocked out our ability to make new music. Since all the records, tapes, and 8 tracks we had were from before the 90's, we didn't have a TV or a radio in the house and since I was home schooled, I just sort of went with it. It never occured to me things were different. I bought a little portable radio at a neighbors garage sale with some money I had saved up. I put the headphones on in my bedroom that night and started dinking with the frequency- instead of finding the classic rock channel I found the alternative rock station. I still remember how they introduced it "By special request, here's Radiohead with Idioteque". I like to think they were playing it for me. It blew my mind, I didn't know what I was hearing but I loved it. Other music was great- but this will always be the best song. EDIT: I was not expecting this to blow up the way it did. Thanks everyone. Additional information: My family wasn't abusive or weird, dad just liked classic rock and we lived far away from other people. Keeping us away from "modern" stuff wasn't on purpose, my parents were fine with me listening to new music when I found out about it, they thought it was funny that I didn't think new music had been created. To those who say "how could your parents do that to you?" I turned out alright. I just got to find out about music, the internet, and some movies later on.

This song was made in the year 2000 with the lyric "Ice age coming, Ice age coming" 2 years later ... Ice age comes out coincidence? I think not

Kid A turns 20 this year. The album always sounds so ahead of its time, Radiohead never really sounds dated.

This song and the entire album changed the way i see electronic music. Edit: Ok... I'm talking about my knowledge of electronic music in the past, in this moment i know about artist like aphex twin and kraftwerk but in that moment idioteque was the song that introduced me to that artists so stop commenting things like "WTF bro! Have you ever listen to aphex twin??" -_-

The Bends, OK Computer and Kid A are 3 of my favourite albums ever I think. I only got into Radiohead at the start of this year but I literally can't get enough of them, they've been on repeat since January. Edit: In Rainbows has now proven to be impeccable. It didn't hit me on the first listen but then the second and third listen I got it and holy shit is it brilliant. Nude, Weird Fishes, Reckoner - just a few that can move me to tears.
