A year ago I lost my grandma. I had a really hard time processing my emotions and out of the struggle came this song. I had so many chances to go and visit her in Mexico but I kept telling myself "Next year I'll have the time, or next year I'll save the money". As a songwriter I think a lot about the message I want my music to give to people. If nothing else, I'd like for this to be a friendly reminder to spend time with those you love. Don't wait to do those things nagging you in the back of your head. We keep telling ourselves it's not a good time or we can always do it later. But the truth is: life is fleeting, and it's not going to wait for when it's convenient for you. So what are you going to do THIS YEAR?
