It was an emotionally charged sentencing hearing Monday morning as the victim confronted her husband about the trauma she has struggled with ever since the attempted murder happened in October 2022.
The victim spoke through an interpreter, describing how her husband, Chae An, planned the attack, ambushing her in her home. She then described how he beat her, tied her up then tried to bury her in a shallow grave in the woods.

Soldiers who snap because of PTSD do not stab, tie up and then bury.
They just stab, shoot and fight.
His actions are one of a man who wanted to get rid of his wife without losing any money to her or a lawyer.
PTSD makes you relive a fire fight you were in.

My father was a Vietnam vet. He went through some shit. But he never ever abused my mama or my siblings and I. I know the torment and the mental anguish that he endured, and he turned to alcohol for a long time to numb it. But he hurt himself, not us, and never would. Fortunately, he ended up getting the help he needed and we had the dad we always knew he could be and my mama had the love of her life back. Thank Jesus!
