So, a little fun fact. The theory that Dyson has with their POLAR test, is that 1.they designed everything for a reason, the speed of air being pushed out, the materials used in the machine to prevent any extra pollution, etc. It's been all thought out. 2. they believe that when the air is being projected by the multiplier technology that it draws in dirty air into the machine. The low CADR is because when the air is drawn in, it does it at a slower level, and this actually gets all the smallest particles much more accurately, kind of like how some regular air purifiers have germ mode, but this is like that all the time. So you're getting high amount of air being pushed out, but you are also getting a through clean. The smallest particles are the ones that cause the biggest problems, and because dyson made their filters much thicker than before, with more carbon, they last much longer, but also cost more. 3. Because of it's sensing technology, (some of the most accurate sensors in the world), you save a lot more money in the long run because the purifier cleans the room whenever its actually necessary and so you don't suffer before it happens. 4. Their filters have a rubber gasket around them to prevent leakage, this means you are getting truly filtered air every pass. Now. Heres my opinion. I actually have asthma and allergies. I owned a tp01. From my experience, it did its job. However, I had a concern. It didnt get rid of dust fast enough. I also own a Blueair 411 auto (the small guy) and it got rid of the dust incredibly fast as well as smoke etc. The dyson however seemed to keep its efficiency over a long period of time, it didnt loose its fresh feeling. I also noticed with the blue air that it took longer for dust to settle on my desk in my room than the dyson. Now this is just my observation. I also noticed with the blue air that my asthma attacks were much less than before compared to the dyson. Now this is my own observation. Could it be that the dyson gets all the small stuff better, but its bad at dust, or that dust will settle on the ground and should be vacuumed frequently instead? You have to test it out yourself. Now keep in mind, the dyson I owned was their first purifier model, now the technology is much more advanced. What matters is, does it reduce your symptoms and is it affordable in the long run, is it worth it in the long run compared to the other purifiers? That's just my observation. Also, I have owned these machines for years, so I know whats going on in the long run.

I live in Chennai and in my area there is moderate dust coming in from the roads. Are the filters washable. My concern is whether dyson's filters would last 12 months, considering the dusty environment I live in. Also I see a lot of filters on their site, the entire set costing atleast 10 to 12k, which is pretty steep as far as maintenance cost is concerned.
