“The Marvel of Pop Music” is such an amazingly accurate description.

Finally some actual honest reviews... sick and tired of fellow Swifties and critics acting like this is her best work yet.

Folklore/Evermore was PEAK Taylor Swift for me.

When constructive criticism is misread as insults, there’s no room for growth. That’s the issue with Swift, Drake, and a half dozen acclaimed artists who aren’t challenged (or challenging themselves) at all.

I don’t understand why Taylor doesn’t want to take a break. Girl go on vacation or something.

Taylor used gay rights as her new aesthetic in the Lover era and even made a ✨stunning and brave✨doc about her coming out as a Democrat and then acts all mad when people are surprised that she associated herself with a controversial guy? I don't care who she dates and I think it's embarassing how some of her fans wrote her a letter telling her to break up with him, that's an insanely unhealthy level of parasocial relationship. However, she doesn't get to be shocked if people are disappointed to see her date a guy like Matty Healy, it makes it seem like she just used gay people to promote her music. It's so dumb how her hardcore fans are acting like she "ate up all the haters" when the only person she embarassed is herself and exposed how she really only cares about social justice issues when it benefits her.

I think she's scared to take risks, especially big ones. She doesn't want to fall from the massive fame she's at right now.

it feels like an extremely long and watered down version of midnights with lyrics trying to be as poetic and complicated as possible

I saw one reviewer said she’s the level of fame now that Oprah was in the ‘90’s, given her influence in the music scene, helping to save movie theatres with her concert documentary, and even helping sell NFL merch for that football player she’s dating. And well… I can see it.

I did not like her mentioning Kim's kids . Im not a kim fan at all she annoys me but bringing up kids in an adult beef that ended years ago is foul

I'm seeing why normally artists wait 2-3 years between albums. It's cool to not make fans wait so long between releases but I'd rather she put the effort into a good 15 song album than a mediocre double album that sounds identical to the last album. It's impressive how much effort she's putting into recording however I feel like people are so blinded by the work ethic she's displaying they're not viewing the quality of the work itself objectively

(Saying this as a long-time massive fan) I feel like this album feels different because for the first time, her writing is aware of her god-like status. It feels incredibly parasocial, self-conscious, and yet cocky somehow. You said that it feels like she's trying to prove something, but to me it almost feels like she thought her pen was inevitably made of gold? I can only attribute the cringier lines to that kind of blindness, and I'm not saying this in a hateful way. I don't think the writing's bad; I think it's inconsistent and there's a reason why. You need to have a strong (and kind of misguided) sense of self-importance to think that lyrics such as “Tattooed Golden Retriever” are worth even jotting down. It's just interesting as a psychological phenomenon because she's always written from the perspective of trying to prove her writing to the critics, but now she clearly knows that the industry is wrapped around her finger. I understand that her writing style will continue to change for as long as she lives, I just need her new influences to settle and mix to match with her style. I won't be talking about the production bc I know we must all agree

If this wins over Country Carter at the Grammys next year, the internet will be in shambles

Welp, knowing that she’s crying about missing her racist ex boyfriend makes that album even less interesting. Knowing that he was watching videos of BW being violated wasn’t a turn off for her.

Was this album bad? No But was this album good, especially considering Taylor's other albums? Not at all, this feels like Midnights watered down, but it has some great gems

SAY IT LOUDER. I'm a swiftie and I don't like the past two albums, definitely no quality control.

I agree I think she likes making money and likes being on top, but also wants to be taken seriously as an artist. And I think those wants are okay, but she’s churning out work like clockwork so I’m not surprised. I’m not a fan of hers but I respect her business decisions for the most part but this is just ???? Part of making great art is that it imitates life which means you have to live it. Obviously the average Joe who does art as a hobby cannot afford to stop working. But artists especially as big as her, can. She’s been in our faces nonstop since 2020/2021? When she released folklore. She in the last 3-4 years has released 4 original albums, I think like 5 re-recordings, had one of if not the biggest world tour, and one of her highest profile relationships which is very public and is profiting off of it. She is way too overexposed. She hasn’t “clocked out “ of work for four years. She needs to sit back and live life so she can create new ideas that are interesting and show growth. Be like dua lipa and go on vacation or something

The diss track about Kim Kardashian isn't the serve Taylor and her fans think that it is. That fiasco was almost 10 years ago and Kim hasn't even talked about Taylor since then. The song just seems petty and childish at Taylor's big age. I think Taylor's critics might be on to something when they say she's stuck in a teenage mindset

Also can I just add that the inspirations from Lana del Rey are so on the nose? The opening line for the title track is , diction wise, the exact same for mariners apartment complex “You left my typewriter at my apartment, straight from the tortured poets department” “You took my sadness out of context, at the mariners apartment complex” Not to mention other blatant inspirations — almost perfect copying of Lana such as the mention of Chelsea hotel, “daddy” usage, the themes of the fatalist lover, the themes of melancholy and dispair and poetry. It feels like she’s trying to become a more commercially successful version of Lana del Rey. I’m not saying that Lana OWNS any of those styles but the similarities are uncanny
