Perfect for Liza. Losing My Mind was written by Broadway's great Stephen Sondheim in 1971 for his musical FOLLIES. Usually performed as a slow ballad, Pet Shop Boys produced this synth-pop version for Liza Minnelli in 1989. PTB + Liza with a Z = greatness. Stunning performance!

I thought 1989 was the dog end of the 80s musically at the time, but as I get older plenty of songs from that year stand out as classics - none more so than this gem!

I bought this back in 1989 and it's with all my 45s in the loft. I had forgotten how much I loved it at the time and still do. What a shame that Liza didn't go on to do sequel in the same vein. I love the Pet Shop Boys' arrangements, so very 90s.
