A minor point, but the LSD abbreviation is from the German name - Lysergsäure-diethylamid Lyserg Saure Diethylamid. The "S" is for Saure, which is German for acid. This is similar to the use of EKG (the kardio is German, but it is ECG in English - ElectroCardioGram). Thank you for the great summary of the medicinal aspects of ergot of rye uses.
