Lyrics:

I know Iā€™m better off not looking back
Forgive me father, wonā€™t you take it back?
That we were lovers
Bodies touching
On park benches
Stray dogs watching
It disgusts me now

I wish I didnā€™t want you
Wish I could do without
This blood on my face
Where you teeth sunk in
Bite me again

When itā€™s 4am
And your heart is breaking
I will hold your hands
To stop them from shaking
If it takes all night
I will be on your side
Back to the olive mount you lead me to
The wind was blinding so I clung to you
And you smiled so sweetly
As you threw me
Down the rocks into the seaweed
You thought that I could fly

When youā€™re lying here
I believe you love me
You can hold my hair back
When you kiss me
If you stay all night
I will be on your side
When itā€™s 4am
And your heart is breaking
I will hold your hands
To stop them from shaking
If it takes all night
I will be on your side

I've been here since Nothing Matters and I'll always be here for all the new releases. I want to see this band grow and bloom, and I'll be watching every single step ā¤

Really hope you girls make it big. If it had been the 90's or 00's it would be without question. We need alternative music back in the mainstream. Rooting for you...

The nuances and influences of the greats, Bowie, Roxy, Genesis, Floyd, Kate Bush with Abigail's haunting vocals make the Last Dinner Party a phenomenom in its own right already.

I saw them live in Philly last week and they did this live but they mashed it up with the Pixies 'Where is My Mind' and it was magical. Love this band!

The studio version of this song is so emotional and completely absorbing, real feel for a wailing guitar in touch with the meaning of the song

Whenever I see this band play (3 times now) I feel like 'this is how excited people must have felt the first time The Smiths played live (or Kate Bush, or Joy Division or any number of other iconic artists/bands). There is such a wonderful mash-up of multiple different flavours - Abba, Kate Bush, the literary/poetic feel of it all (which remind me a little of what Pete Doherty did with The Libertines/Babyshambles), the playful, Dickensian, punk energy of Abigail in live shows - I love the whole thing! I was hooked from the first time I saw the video for Nothing Matters šŸ¤© Am booked for the Roundhouse!

Came across this band purely by chance, but I'm so glad I've discovered them, sometimes you get grabbed by something that just resonates with you and The Last Dinner Party does that with me. Listened to the whole album on the train home yesterday and i was completely captivated by it, just pure and beautiful music

Itā€™s 2023 and Iā€™m a middle aged fart who enjoyed all the next big thing explosions in the 1990ā€™s but had become a tad jaded by the 21st century waiting for great bands with style (in short I thought there were none) but along come The Last Dinner Party - everything Iā€™ve heard from them sounds fantastic- the elegance and style are right there and suddenly I can believe again. If thereā€™s any justice 2024 will belong to them .

There's some great audience interaction at the NY gig, including a lovely moment when Aurora lets somebody play her portable piano thingy towards the end of My Lady of Mercy. Emily could barely play she was laughing so much. These ladies instinctively know the right thing to do. They really are very special.

Stunning. Reminds me of the VHS tape of Laura Palmer with Donna. And a bit of the Nothing Compares 2 U music video. Love
