As someone who played wax artist quite often, there're quite many playstyle you can do with him. *General tip: - Wax artist general soft counter most surv in the game, all surv with stun ability can become vulnuable during chase and harassment as you can just shoot wax on them with 75% or more and they can basically build their own grave. Freezing surv can make perfume, owl, shield from professor useless as you can wait them out then hit them after which might require good timing. Some good counters against Wax Artist (for me generally) is any surv with reading hunter's location early in the game like Seer or The Mind's Eyes as reveling Wax Artist's location early can really mess him up as creating distance can prevent him from shooting wax and freezing surv early. - You can double hit a surv by shooting surv with around 90-95%, hit the surv, then try to shoot wax to 100% to freeze them and get another hit again. Having second present (hot wax) unlocked while camping a chair is very strong as you can basically double hit rescuer and prevent save. - Without first present (shoot wax ball), it would be extremely time consuming and inconvenience to close window this way, i recommend shooting wax and chasing surv at the same time - After obtaining first present, shooting wax ball at the window that surv is running toward to prevent them from vaulting. Also, when chasing suvr in a location with multiple window, adjust the location of the wax ball so it can close most of the window. - Using wax to prevent surv from priming last cipher is very strong as it can lengthen the game - Wax can run out easily, use them wisely and only shoot when possible to shoot *Persona web: - If you want to utilize max present power then you can use 3-9 persona web with faster pallet breaking. It boost the present quicker so i can use hot wax as early as possible. Surv can get 25% when they stun you so with this build you can get aggressive, break the pallet and continue the chase. However, i only use this build in open maps as it's easier to shoot wax to freeze or damage surv with wax and hot wax in open maps like Moonlit River Park or Eversleeping Town. - Some closed maps are great counter to Wax Artist as he can gotten himself looped by surv for so long in an area so you can get 3-12 persona web to prevent that from happening. - Or you can play standard build like many other hunter with 3-6 *Recommending traits: - Teleport: Applying pressure on cipher and finding surv easier - Blink (Of course): Quicken up the chase - Abnormal: As wax can prevent surv to prime and fix ciphers, this can pair up nicely with freezing cipher then abnormal. Also wax prevent surv from priming while abnormal is performing - Peeper: Recommend in small maps as it give wax artist direction where and when to shoot wax and also mind gaming. - Listen: Yeah this is kind of a troll one but using this while chairing surv to early hit them as they have to move to get to the chaired surv which will give away their location but if they dont move then chaired surv might move into second phase. Suitable in low rank tho although i won using listen in rank sometime lol
