A sketchbook is like a playground or a mad scientist laboratory. Or that’s how an artist should use it

Oh the affect of socmed and seeing how other people do their sketchbooks has inadvertently pressured ourselves to make out own just as good… It’s an easy habit to fall into, since having artists to admire means aspiring to go thru the same exercises as them— I keep falling for the same thoughts too! So it’s always nice to have a reminder that what and who your own sketchbook is for, and what YOU want to accomplish for yourself ☺️

Yes the sketchbook. We all thought that it was for everyone to see but it's our own like a diary or journal that's personal for my eyes only with a little lock on it to keep others out. Play around in it draw what you can and can't and broaden your skills and draw your struggles and improve them. Its a mad house plus a place of elegance. Nourish it

This is real tho. I think a lot of people are scared to "mess up" their sketchbook but you can't mess up your sketchbook cuz that's what it's designed for. Break the rules, have fun, draw incomprehensible horrors, whatever. Just keep enjoying your hobby:)

My sketchbooks are a wild mix of really good artworks, shabby layout sketches, random quotes and songs and story ideas. My favorite sketchbook so far is from 2014 to 2016. So many ideas I rediscover right now!

Realizing your sketchbook doesn’t have to have a perfect piece on every page really helped me improve, I now draw a lot more and basically fill every page now

How did she get this good at drawing before realizing this?

I’ve only recently broke out of this box myself with my sketch books. Every artist should hear this. 💖

I love the lizards you drew, they give me such nostalgia cause I grew up with lizard stuff like scaler ps2 game, and I use to have my own lizards, even the crested gecko. How I miss them. :c Btw the artist is really good at drawing them, it inspires me to draw them more. ♥

My dream is to become a professional artist and i became lucky to know i was passionate about art now then most people when their older (i was 14 when i started learning and became obsessed with art) i really love when people appreciate my art, something i love to do. Everyones sketchbook is their way to express themselves and do something they love wether its art, story writing, or just plan doodling.wana know the best part about drawing, writing, doodling? theres NO limits besides your imagination and desire wich you control
