Peole here don't get it. They say if the old murayama fight todoroki he would be easily defeated... If the old murayama fight todoroki here he might be lost. You see the concept in HnL and in crows of " the desire not to fight " was applied to the strongest. Murayama, after his defeat to cobra, he becomes more stronger. The desire of not anymore challenging others, not having desire to conquer anything makes the person get stronger. One example was rindaman in crows, the man doesn't have any desire of conquering suzuran or challenging anyone, yet he was considered the strongest ever entered suzuran. He only fights when he was challenged by someone. The other example was Lao, the man also doesn't want to conquer suzuran, ignored as possible as he can the challenge, yet he was considered the King, the monster in suzuran during his era. The more the character was at peace, not going to any fights as possible, you know he was strong. That's what happen to murayama, he was enlightened after his lost to cobra, he becomes more stronger compared to the crazy ass old murayama.

Todoroki actually didn't stand a chance. Murayama only lost his desire to fight but it doesn't mean he became weak. He fights because he's bored until he becomes bored of fighting. He never experienced losing in a fight until He got defeated & motivated by Cobra. (that's also why he became a fanboy of cobra eversince). Remember, after he withstand 100 punches as initiation... He beat the crap out of every one right after.
