Sports teams are only as good as their owners. The Warriors didn't get better because they moved to San Francisco. They had a John Fisher type owner who traded away top talent and paid low salaries and they were terrible. When Lacob and Guber took over they invested in young talent and paid for top free agents. They played in 5 Finals in Oakland and won 3 of them. They moved to San Francisco, because they are real estate developers. If Fisher sold them the A's early on maybe the Warriors would have stayed at the Colleseum and that land would be a big fantasy land for the A's and Warriors instead of the Warriors in San Francisco and the A's in who knows where.

It might have worked if Oakland didn’t demand that Fischer also pay for low income housing around the stadium too. Think about how stupid an idea that is… and it goes to show that Oakland is either delusional or intentionally made into impossible

Citi FIeld was built in the Shea Stadium Parking lot. The old chop shops in the area have been cleared. Eventually there could be a casino or ballpark village built around the Mets home, if only NYC politics wouldn't slow things down. This could happen in Oakland at the Coliseum site if planned properly.
