In a way, Chris was always going to fail. He was set up to fail from the start. Being birn to Barb and Bob who had zero idea what to do with an autistic child, their narcissism rubbing off on him through an autistic lens. He was raised poorly, allowed to indulge in childish fantasy for far too long, and givem unfettered access to the internet.
He should have gone to that special ed class and he should have been raised better, but his parents were who they were, and their arrogance put him on the dark path of his life.

the way that Barb and Chris talk about each other during that candid date video... if they hadn't already been doing the deed with each other by that point, they certainly entertained thoughts of it that early.
