Brie Larson won the Best Actress Oscar for this performance.

From what I remember, Brie Larson really did a lot of research for this role. Spoke to psychologists to learn more about that type of trauma and isolated herself for a month to get into that mindset. She really gave this role her all and definitely deserved that Oscar

Keep crying, Nick. Itā€™s part of your beauty; youā€™re human.

This film is why I canā€™t take anybody seriously when they say Brie Larson canā€™t act, just because Captain Marvel disappointed. Sheā€™s a freaking talent and deserved her Oscar win. ā¤ļø And this was Jacob Tremblayā€™s breakout role and Iā€™m so happy both are continuing to work. ^-^

The interviewer wasn't prepared at ALL to talk with a victim of kidnap and sexual abuse. No one who is really prepared would ask those questions šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Nick, your empathy and emotions come across so strongly, you're so incredible! Don't ever apologize for showing them or crying, it is so nice to see this kindness. The people in your life are lucky to have you!

This movie just shows how Much the MCU underused Bries acting talent. I just hope they do her more justice in the sequel since she can act, she isn't the stiff and emotionless person that the MCU made her out to be. I hope the directors and writers learned that lesson!

I remember the first time I watched it and I was sobbing too. The bit that got me was when Jack returned to Room and how small it actually was set in. Like thinking back to the opening section and how the camera work showed Room from Jackā€™s perspective and then the harsh reality of itā€™s actually size. Amazing film

From memory, Brie Larson went into self isolation for months to prepare herself for this role. No internet, no phone, no contact with outside. She did an incredible job. Room is also based on a true story about a woman who was kidnapped as a teen and kept in a shed.

The argument between the mom and daughter in front of Jack gives me chills every time especially her loosely apologizing for not being a ā€œniceā€ person anymore because being nice got her kidnapped.

As much as the dad ignoring the kid annoyed me, I understood it. Because when he looked at the boy it was a constant reminder of the guy who destroyed his life.

Donā€™t ever apologize for getting teary-eyed because I did almost every single time you did. Thatā€™s not something to be ashamed of in a movie like this

Room is based on the novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue, which is inspired by the real Fritzl case in Amstetten, Austria. The real incident is a lot more horrifying, and the abuse is done by a family member for over 24 years, with the victim bearing seven children during her captivity.

If you want to cry again, watch The Impossible. My most favorite movie based on a true story. It's just way too good. Imagine, Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. And you know the new Spiderman kid? Tom Holland? That was his debut.

Whatā€™s terrifying is that itā€™s inspired by the real-life case of Elisabeth Fritzl. Her story is so horrifying and so is the thought that many women all over the world live this way. It also reminds me of the Ariel Castro kidnappings, he kidnapped and held 3 women captive for YEARS, he also r@ped them and had a child with one of them. He was sentenced to life plus 1,000 years in prison, but killed himself a month later.

Great film, really sad to think about all the women in various places in the world locked in similar situations right now.

I watched this movie for the first time when I was 13. I cried the entire time! Brie Larson does an excellent job portraying what life is like after being rescued. I feel like a lot of movies end with the captor being caught and few show what happens next. I couldn't imagine the amount of confusion, anger, and depression that comes when trying to reenter society. This was a great reaction!

Yes especially her point of view was more disgusted by the place but she really gave everything so Jack could feel good. Thatā€™s why I think when she was finally out you could tell her feeling and behaving a bit childish as well since she had to be a motherly though figure in room.
