For me it reminds me of when I ended up living on the streets for a bit after my Mom died. The women I loved left me like a year before that I just started dealing with epilepsy It wasn't always easy but it was an experience my old friends were all gone. Trying to work was difficult cause I would have garandma's seizures I met many different people in my adventures and I enjoyed meeting those strangers. Some left a lasting impression on me and became closer to me than those i thought were friends. The conversations I had we're so insightful and I learned much about myself in that time and I'm grateful that I lived it. I still struggle with my epilepsy but I have gotten back on track and still grow. My compassion and empathy for others grew and I even learned to love myself. Walking those streets listening to music running into all these folks I hope them well and will always remember.

Like this album much more than the last Chris is still sorely missed you can hear it. I miss his nasty raw guitar and eclectic melodic keyboards and most importantly his songwriting contributions, this seems like much more of a conscious effort to sound like they did before Chris left then the last album which you can tell they were struggling to find their way without him. That all being said I'm still digging the new album I like it.

How in the fuck does this track only have 55k plays?
There’s some straight garbage out there that’s into the billions, and I listen to just about everything and anything.
You want to talk about a band that’s evolved with beauty and grace, it’s Death Cab. You can listen to their early stuff, you can listen to their later stuff. You still know it’s them. They haven’t abandoned the amazing sound that makes them, them! If you ask me, they’ve only gotten better!
Keep going your thing, gentleman. It’s a thing of beauty. It’s one of your most recent releases, yet, it’s one of my favorites. That says it all.

I think if it explored the feeling of the chorus in other ways like how we use technology it might've made a neat concept, because it's really the chorus and that last line of "reach out to what is choking you" that resonated with me, like reaching out for your phone. Just like in life offline, online spaces have this tension between overly familiar real world profile bios and curated avatars versus a more anonymous and veiled internet in terms of how we used it in the past. I feel there's an undercurrent here of that between friend and stranger, but the song is great anyway melody wise and in it's rhythms, like everything on the album it's so fresh sounding yet totally in line with the best of Death cab For Cutie.
