Work-from-home scams are trapping Housewives and Job Seekers across India in a scam where they try to extort money from you. Manisha and I show you exactly how these data-entry scams work and how to avoid bad work-at-home job scams.

After you sign up for data-entry work online, some companies like Typing Work and Freelancer Forms will give you very tough targets to meet, and if you don't meet them, they send you fake legal threats trying to extort money from you.

Even if you somehow manage to finish the work, they will tell you that you did not meet the 90% accuracy requirement and ask you for ₹6000 ($81). This is their business model.

Sometimes the data-entry work they have you doing is suspicious too like completing Google CAPTCHA requests which assist in illegal activity online.

Before taking a data entry or work from home job, do some research on the company to find out if it's legit. First, Google search the company name then check their address is real on Google Maps and see the reviews there too. If the company is brand new, they'll be no feedback which is a warning sign. Find a company with a good name.

If these scammers start threatening you with legal notices... Ignore them! Their legal threats are fake. They just want easy targets to extort money from. Stand up to them, tell them "NO" and then block them on your phone with an app like @truecaller.
