For me the best re-record on this album is I Know Places... Her scream after the 2nd verse("and we run!!!") says it all, it has grit, growl and clariity compared to the stolen version.

in terms of tone; there is so much anger and pessimism in the voice, and synth of the younger version... there is something so light and freeing about this new version! Like I feel like I can hear her smiling while singing the TV version. The original version has more of this hurt, anger and something to prove... but in a beautifully charged way. I like that version, but I think this, as life, and in reflection, this more lighter re record is symbolism that she looks back with content?! idk but I love it so much

My favourite thing about the original album was the âdepthâ of production. It created a 3D soundscape I could get lost into. My only complaint with the re-recording is that much of that depth is lost, and the sound mixing has reduced that 3D space to a 2D picture, albeit the colours are the same. I wish she took more time with the production and mixing.

As someone who grew up together with every phase of Taylorâs album, I do appreciate the wholeness and how the Taylorâs Version made me reminisce the past but at the same time accepting the happiness of how I matured as time goes by and happily moving forward.

This Love TV is her best re-recorded song in terms of improvement by a long shot. The previous version was a bit too light and flat, but Taylorâs Version is so dynamic and dreamy.

From a production standpoint, I do really prefer the original. While TV is a fantastic recreation and is definitely the more 'polished' version, there's something slightly more lo-fi, powerful and warm in regards to the original. TS sounds rather scooped in the midrange and the stereo image is kind of exaggerated. TS does enhance some details, but the original is overall more cohesive, feels a bit more like an 80ies 'warm blanket' and I perceive as a bit more nostalgically hazy.

The problem with any re recording is people have listened to the original songs too much and become too attached to the smallest aspects, like a single note or snare at random points in the song and then lose it when itâs not in the new version. With time Iâm sure most of these will grow on people who donât like the new versions

1989 is imprinted in everyones head so it is not easy to digest new sounds for sometimes but it will definitely feel better as the overall vocal quality is better. My first listen of tv was not good but now it feels better than original as more i listen.

At the beginning I was very surprised that the TV didn't sound similar to the old one (I was expecting that 'cause Taylor was older when she released 1989 in 2014, so she didn't have her teen voice like in Red, SN, Fearless and Debut). But definitely, she and her team really improve the production and she explored new kind of vocal techniques, and they sound amazing!

I still prefer the originals personally. The new ones aren't bad, but they are missing a spark or sparkle. I have the original on CD and vinyl, so don't have to worry about streaming royalties on the old versions going to people who aren't nice.
