Sony Pictures has been wanting franchises to have their own cinematic universe that’s why to push Spider-Man so heavily. It’s likely Star Trek could be Sonys Star Wars. Also I think Sony would get rid of paramount + the reason and this comes from Sony and a that they would rather be a content arms dealer for other services like Netflix, Disney, Amazon, stars. Sony doesn’t view streaming as viable so if anything they’ll make the shows or movies for other platforms (show wise) or theatrical reales for their films which has been their current strategy.

I pray this means they will officially decanonize (or put those things in a different timeline, like the Kelvin movies) everything that came after 2009. Then, wait a bit and create an actual good Star Trek series inspired by TNG and DS9 with people that actually love Star Trek.
