As the oldest sister, I still didn't get all new clothes. There were plenty of hand-me-downs from my older cousins. But my mom was a seamstress, and she often made changes to certain outfits. Made them look new and totally different.
But we all got our own, new undies.

My mom’s #1 rule when it comes to old clothing or hand me downs is never give away used underwear. If you don’t need old bras or underwear throw it away, it’s so gross to pass down used underwear
