Fun fact! Boo york used only 1 female & 1 male vocalist, so ALL the songs are performed by the same 2 ppl. The entirety of "steal the show" is one person singing as 3 characters! Just shows how well the composers & vocalists did in making the style of each song & character voice distinct
///EDIT yes, in "empire" cleo's dad is the same vocalist as pharaoh, edited to make the voice lower
Also a lot of the songs were shortened in the movie/music videos, esp "it can't be over", but the ost has the full versions
Also also, monster high released a live action musical movie last year. I haven't seen it but if you're interested in hearing a more modern mh, check it out!

NO ONE EXPLAINED, okay I'm only 1:12 in BUT
Deuce (green guy) is the son of a Gorgon (maybe Medusa, unclear). Cleo is the second born daughter of the Pharaoh, so she's a Mummy. Their whole thing in the OG Monster High was to show that "scaritage" (heritage) didn't have to stop you from loving who you love...
... Except also Cleo was a high class gal and Deuce was a dude who tended to be just chill. Which was the sub-plot "It Can't Be Over" covers.

In the song 'Steal the show' Toralei stole Caty's voice because she couldn't sing with her real voice. Caty then got her voice back and sang like Toralei. So, it isn't Toralei's real voice but you were right, that she's not that good

I'm so happy you finally discovered Monster High. A whole generation grew up with it, with its message of being okay with yourself, the way you are, virtues and flaws in the same package, and I'm just glad I got to be part of it too. You should also react to the second opening "We are Monster High". It's more upbeat and cheerful than the first one, but still a bop.

Answering every single one of Mathew's Questions cause I'm bored:
1. Monster High is the daughters and sons of famous monsters going to high school like Dracula, The Mummy, and Frankenstein
2. Cleo and Deuce are the characters in the first song. Deuce is the son of Medusa and Cleo is the daughter of The Mummy, they're together but Cleo is rich and successful, unlike Deuce. Cleo's family doesn't approve so Deuce sings a whole EDM song about how it's over
3. Monster High has several feature films and TV series, Boo York Boo York being one of them. Most of the songs you listened to were from that movie and the theme song plays at the beginning of each movie and I believe is the theme song for the series?
4. The premise of Boo York Boo York is that the main ghouls (girls) take a trip to Boo York (New York) basically a lot of the places have puns for names like Scaris for Paris or New Goreleans for New Orleans. They also have puns for different terms like ghouls for girls or cool, drop-dead gorgeous, mansters for men
5. The people singing in Empire are Cleo's sister and dad and they're singing about being rulers or something like that I don't exactly remember but yeah she wants to rule the world and be rich and in charge
6. It's not just you that thinks these are a bop I swear, I have multiple Monster High songs on my playlist, they are in fact an absolute banger
7. The first girl singing in Steal the Show is named Toralei and is in fact the bully bitchy character you asked for. She has a really bad singing voice so she used some fancy crystal gem to steal Catty Noir's (The black cat with pink hair) voice from her and went on to sing Steal the Show since no way?!?! She's stealing the show. Then all the ghouls break in and are like hey you can't do that la la la la la we came to save the show
8. In the song Boo York Boo York, Pharaoh is the rapper who's mom wants to make him king of the world in competition with Cleo's family (I think????) but Pharaoh prefers to live a life of music so he's like no mom I'm not gonna feed into your stupid rivalry I found a girl I love (Catty Noir) and I want to make music Starts rapping also yes there was a girl DJ'ing over top of his rapping, she DJ's for his live performances if I remember correctly
9. I genuinely can't explain the eye guy at the end
