Not only did Vanessa make sure Kobe cut them off , she made sure Kobe bought houses and gave plenty of money to her parents and her siblings. Kobe gave Vanessaā€™s mother money every month and when he died she sued Vanessa for the money Kobe promised to give her for life. Thatā€™s how entitled her family was to Kobeā€™s money. So Shannon is speaking from one perspective without even knowing all the info

Gil knows more than what he shares. Thatā€™s a real brother for not airing everything. Great show !

The Lakers should step in and buy all of Kobe's memorabilia items, including his championship rings, and put it in a display case at the arena for fans to see.

Shout out to Papa and Mama Bryant for what they did in raising a man like Kobe. As Gil said, some percentage of Kobes's royalties should have been given to his parents for upkeep no matter what their relationship with Venessa was. Or better yet, fund a business that will help them maintain the 3 million house you bought for them so they don't have to keep selling stuff that is part of your legacies.

Gil was spot on with this interview. He's saying something without saying something. Shannon Sharp couldn't hear him, bcuz he kept talking over Gil. Gil knew the real story and how it was btwn Kobe, Vanessa, and Kobe's parents. Shannon Sharp was talking from and outside view. Gil was talking facts and truth from what he experienced and knew personally. I believe that Gil talked to Shannon on the truth about Kobe's parents and Vanessa's relationship behind the scene. That Shannon weren't private in knowing about it. This was a great topic discussion on this episode.

Shannon is wrong on this one. Sometimes Shannon think he know everything and donā€™t recognize maybe Gil knew something about the situation he didnā€™t. Learn to listen Unc.

Gil broke it down perfectly with that "buy your sister a 3 million dollar house" example.

Gil knows the truth. Iā€™m a multimillionaire and my wife had an issue with my family, I still have to take care of my parents because they spent thousands of hours raising meā€¦so did Kobeā€™s parents. He couldnā€™t do it without his parents who drove him to games, dropped him off, etc.

I am with Gil on this one. Kobe should have been able to support his wife and his parents even if they weren't seeing eye to eye. Kobe's dad is the reason Kobe developed into the player he did.

I know Kobe Bryant was a great basketball player, but I always had problems with him because of the way I perceived he treated his parents who do you think instilled that greatness in Kobe Bryant? The woman who he married her siblings, and her parents are living large, while the parents who gave life to Kobe Bryant has to sell his memorabilia for money thatā€™s a problem and thatā€™s sad. sometimes a woman can come along and ruin a families dynamic and thatā€™s what happened

Gilbert is a class act for biting his tongue. He showed Vanessa grace. She was a video girl in La! This older wholesome woman we see now is not what the parents saw many years ago. Gil probably knows more about her than we do thatā€™s why he just giving that sheepish grin
