This is my first time watching this because a lot of people criticize this. I can't believe they would say that the vm is bad and prefer a simpler one or something like that. This is a real piece of art I hope you guys continue doing this. Don't let others pull you down because you stay true to yourselves.

It's quite funny, but in the Asian region, Geckos symbolize renewal, rebirth and fresh start. It's been 4 years since "Shiela" left and after 4 years he finally moved on. The song entices us about the meaning of happy in the "Happy ending". Which counterpart the words "sawakas" and "wakas" at the latter part of M/V.

This is the time that we acknowledge OPM songs.

Who wouldn't appreciate this kind of piece of art!? So ito pala ang interpretation ng band nila it's quite clever that they made an unexpected story since commonly ieexpect ng ibang listeners/viewers yung literal na lyrics ang gagawan ng MV but to surprise us using a symbolism? Oh my Asian heart is clapping rn. Kudos!πŸ€—

I love the symbolism of this song from moving on, coping mechanism to acceptance of fate and tama yung isang comment na gecko symbolizes rebirth and a fresh start and for me, ulan symbolizes sadness which in this part 4 years ang ulan which is also the duration of his grieving period. For the rain to end means that he is happy and had the acceptance to move on. To start again. πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‰

An unorthodox music video, than I could ever imagine for the song. Somehow weird but creative, and I love it. ❀

I really appreciate the concept of the music video "Raining In Manila" by Lola Amour 1. City pop (from Japan) has never been appreciated until now. Musical elements of this song will definitely give you a hype. Highlight of the song would be the mid-section of the saxophone solo parts. 2. Lyrics suggest missing someone. Whether you are a fan of the weather or not, truly the rain gives you sentimental feelings, if not nostalgic of someone you miss and love. 3. Lastly the music video concept. It touches the concept of loneliness from someone's departing (being heartbroken, I myself is also vulnerable), the struggle and the "rain" that comes with it.... somehow it also touches mental health (and overall health I guess). The way the "gecko" defended the main character and that memorable caring gesture in the end suggests that sufferings end, and maybe hope will be on the way. Kudos to the band, this will be a long lasting favorite of mine. Hope I can personally congratulate you. Thank you for this song. β˜”βœ¨πŸŽΆ

I hope people should stop hating on this music video just because they think it is not fit for the beat of the song. The music video does not limit a piece by the way it suits the beat of the song. Music video is there for listeners to completely understand what the song wants to convey. Instead of hating, we should appreciate this video because it is not just full of symbolism but also entertaining! Not the typical OPM music video that shows the artist singing those lyrics.

I love how this music video is something off the wall - a creative and eccentric approach to moving on and moving forward. Symbolisms are everywhere and pretty much open to different interpretations. The gecko represents the cycle of life and in Asian cultural contexts, it spiritually symbolizes regeneration, adaptability and inner strength. The incessant rain symbolizes dullness, the loss of joy or a deluge of sad and painful memories. But it also epitomizes spiritual cleansing. After the brawl which I think sums up the physical, emotional and spiritual torment he went through to deal with the loss, both the gecko and rain were gone - a perfect denoument for rebirth. Kudos for a job well done. National anthem ko na 'to since it came out. Mabuhay ang OPM.

The Bittersweet Mood of this MV is so good, and the settings reminds me of "Weathering with you" where the Capital City is already submerged to the water due to the non-stop raining. Kudos to the MV Director and Cast and Crew for delivering such a great MV for Lola Amour's Music

I really thought that this is just a hype song about rain, I listened to it every time but never really understood the lyrics, now I do. Not it reminds me of her. I came from a failed relationship, it was almost 2 yrs. It ended last December. She was originally from Pampanga but now resides in Pasay(basically Manila). I always wonder if it’s also raining in Manila when it’s raining here in Laguna. It’s been 10 months since we broke up. The rain hasn’t stopped yet, I hope it ends now. Lovelots Lola Amour, continue on creating great songs 🫢🏻🫢🏻🫢🏻

Came here because of the twitter peeps' complaints, and here my thoughts. This unconventional MV is actually impressive for having cinematic story telling and symbolisms that paved ways to viewer's self interpretation of the song in so many ways, depending on your imagination. I thought this song is as simply as about a couple missing each other and unable to see each other for a while because of heavy rains. But, as i watched the MV, it could mean a death of someone and the rain is the translation for his grief and loneliness while reminiscing their memories. It could also mean a person's own experiences, own's feeling of dispiritedness, a person who has totally changed over time but misses his old self and the rain serves as a link to self-reflect. It could also literally mean a future of humanity where rain serves as a barrier in personal communications and a world where people could only interact indoors. I hope, people who cricitized the MV first should think deeply and take it as an art that resonates a lot of meaning.

Why are so many people criticizing this MV? It's so good! Very unorthodox. All these years, we now apologize for art. πŸ˜…

Dont let the criticism pull you down Lola Amour! The music video has brought a deep meaning and it reached us. No, you are not being "Not sensitive enough". You showed the reality behind the music. Its a masterpiece and that will never change. Keep going!

Whenever I hear this song, I am imagining a more cosmopolitan scene. Tall buildings, siksikan sa MRT at LRT, sumisilong sa mga waiting sheds habang umuulan, then chilling sa mga favorite hangout places.

Another masterpiece from Direk Marius Talampas. To those who have no idea who he is and what his works are he is the man behind Grab, RC Cola, CoCo, TnT and Netflix promo commercials and of course the movie Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap. #Koolpals
