The longest time I've gone with no sleep was 9 nights. I learned to stay away from stress and negative things.

Nothing quite like trying to get some sleep to be productive the next day only to have your own mind attack you and try to fall back to sleep while having a mini panic attack with thoughts if inability and despair.

What I’ve found most helpful with not sleeping is listening to guided meditations before bed. Ones with lots of black or brown noise in the background. When I listen to what the person is saying and “allow” myself to be calm, my body tends to listen. On nights when my adhd/anxiety is particularly persistent, I take a pill to help. Only every once in a while though. Hope this was helpful! ❤

I got insomnia when my depression condition was worsen recently and was really struggle to get myself to bed, or even I get to sleep I will wake up somewhere in the middle of midnight. So I try on all the methods listed below: 1) aromatherapy like using relaxing balm, using lavender oil mixture in diffuser 2) taking sleep supplement with GABA 3) meditation 4) listen to relaxing music 5) stop eating any sweet things 2-3hour before bed 6) make sure I go for a walk or any kind of exercise at least 15mins

The things that keep ME awake at night: -"It's too warm in here" (literally around 7 celsius) -my sisters' demon-summoning/singing rituals at midnight -"IS THERE A TEST TOMORROW?! Wait, no, it's saturday... DID I FINISH THE PROJECT?! Wait, still saturday..." -The fly fighting for it's life trying to break through my window (I think it's buzzing so loud intentionally)

The smooth, gentle voices used in this youtube channel is the kind of assuringness and kindness I needed. Like you don't understand how nice it feels just to know that you care about us and make these videos that shed light on important topics. I am a newbie to this channel but I damn in love with it

Due to stimulants I have to take daily just to keep my Asperger’s in check, I have to take melatonin tablets in order to sleep at night, and yet I still can get those occasional sleepless nights, especially before a “big day.” Thanks for this video. It’ll definitely help me in the future

For me it's that I can not stop thinking. Trying not to think (or to think about nothing) is actually quite hard. The thing is that I couldn't write down enough in a journal to stop me from thinking, because I always find a new 'topic' in an instant.

I sometimes still look at difficult times falling asleep linked unfinished business. The spirit won’t allow the body to rest. I’ve always found this thought encouraging.

Watching viseos on my phone actually helps me.relax at night and go to sleep. I have to listen to something before I fall asleep. Always have since I was a kid. ❤

Obvious was the right title for this. "Have you heard that too much as screentime..." And as a lifelong insomniac i just started hearing the Fight Club section full of sad useless doctors advice people with serious sleep issues have heard a million times and tried at least a thousand. Have you tried chewing valerian root, chamomile tea, meditation... Don't use screens at night, but don't continue to lay there for hours sleepless, also don't read an engaging book... Expose yourself to natural light, even though after days of no sleep it feels like torture. No caffeine, even if the waking world still expects functioning. Meditate, but didn't think about your problems. Maybe scientists should consider these things tend to be common to the sleepless because of their sleeplessness instead of causing it.
