Because Raye is so outspoken , telling truth, is why she wasn't nominated for the Grammys. They didn't want her up there telling this truth.

Artist like these come one in a million. The majority of them write music to make money - very few like Raye write music because they truly love to share their story. Artist like these donā€™t need awards - they need us to continue supporting them and going out to their concerts and buying their music. This is amazing Raye and I applaud your bravery!!!

she's so right omg. This explains why the narrative of the music industry is so heavily pushing artists who sing about all the things they have because they have money whereas most the world who live without these wealth privileges can't relate, they're side is not seen and heard so we're only listening to one experience and that's the experience of being rich and having nice things which is so so wrong.

SO much respect for Raye for being brave enough to tell it how it is. a lot of your favourite artists are complicit and benefit from the way the machine operates in the music industry.

so brave of Raye to be a voice and face to finally talk about the financial side of the music industry... say what you want about music and $, but EVERYONE deserves to be able to live if they put in work. Even in music

independent artists like her need to be protected at all cost!! I appreciate RAYE for speaking out about this bc its so true and as an inspiring artist myself I can see lot of corruption in the industry. Music is an art form meant to heal us emotionally and artists should be compensated for being humanitarian to the culture.

Good conversation, but she left out another huge part of this, probably intentionally: artists who don't write their songs bullying the songwriters into giving them a writing credit in exchange for recording their song and putting it on the record and/or releasing it as a single.
