Had the privilege of being at the 100th Indy 500 that Rossi won. I've been to Daytona twice and it was awesome. 2008 and 2018. I will never forget the visual of Kurt Busch pushing Ryan Newman past Tony. However that Indy 500 blew me away. Was sitting on the front stretch just off turn 4. Every single person around me was wondering if someone would go for it. One by one they pit until Rossi was left alone. Something I'll never forget, when Rossi dramatically slowed down in front of us with 2 to go, Bob Jenkins, calling the race, like us, thought he was out of gas. I was yelling "stay on the track!". Then when Rossi missed pit road, Jenkins yelled "But he stays out!" And everyone started cheering. That last lap every person around me, myself included turned into an Alexander Rossi fan. He was going so slow it seemed. And as he came off turn four on the last lap the crowd, already cheering, completely erupted. Couldn't even hear Jenkins anymore. With respect to all the NASCAR races I have been too, and I'm sure witnessing Jimmie's 4th championship live is up there, but witnessing that dramatic fuel mileage win was Without a doubt the coolest thing I have ever experienced.

the 2011 500 was so bittersweet, as much as i loved wheldon, i felt so incredibly bad for hildebrand

I still have no idea how Gordon Johncock held on to the lead over Rick Mears in turn 1 of the last lap. Deciding to cut to Mears's wife's reaction mid-pass is one of the best examples of terrible race coverage I've ever seen. 0:45

Rossi will forever be my favorite. I had lived in Indy ever since I was young and his race was the first Indy 500 I had been in the stands for. Definitely a memory maker.

Rossi winning was one of the last 500's my Grandpa was alive for. He went to 6 or 7 over a 20 year period. My dad, Uncle and Grandpa were in my basement and we were losing our minds! Such a thrilling finish and thrilling feeling! Thank you Alexander for giving me and my family such a terrific memory!

I'm glad and thankful they included the 1999. One of my favorite races. They should have included 1996 as that year they had the fastest cars ever at the speedway. Eddie Cheever had 236 mph laps in the race! And Buddy Lazier had amazing late pass for the lead on the outside, that was beyond insane. And what about 2014 - the Ryan Hunter Ray and Helio Castroneves duel?

How do you miss the 1991 outside passes for the lead on the final restart!? So important to what makes that 4th win with so epic!

The 1989 race made my dad a huge "little Al" fan - he's all ready to flip off Emmo, but gives him a thumbs up instead. So when he won three years later, as I watched my first ever auto race, it was a pretty special moment.
