Light shines upon a broken radio, which sparks to life with a flickering light. As we withdraw from the electronic, which softly plays "I Don't Want to set the World on Fire", we see that the radio is part of a broken bus. We see that the windows are smashed, a teddy bear sits on the seat, and the entire back is missing. As we move further away, the music fades away, but we see a city, lifeless and broken, with rubble littering the streets and wrecked vehicles standing around, as if frozen in time. We then notice our first signs of life: a person clad in futuristic armor, holding a weapon that seems unreal. This person, whoever it may be, slowly turns his head to look at us.
A.K.A. one of the best introduction cinematics in gaming.

Everytime I used to visit my father in the hospital because I felt scared and didn't like the ambience of it all I would turn on fallout's soundtrack and let it play in the background. I would always let it play in one hear. I found it peaceful to be with my dad, in a chair next to him I'd sit for hours with me and my family. We'd spend more than 12 hours of our day there with him. Despite all the despair me and my family felt, I found solace in these tracks, I remember so vividly how much my dad would barely have any energy and would spend half the time we were there asleep. I'd eventually end up falling asleep in that chair right beside him. I knew that the time I had with him was fleeting and I think he knew too. These songs developed into a motif in my brain, a motif of the cold halls of the hospital and the warm moments next to my dad. Even in his final moments I was there next to him with the tracks playing in my right ear. I sometimes before bed turn on these songs and imagine I'm right there next to him again, it hurts to think about those times, but in a way it's comforting. He passed away on November 3rd 2021 at 11:55 pm. I'll miss you Dad.

I don't want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart
In my heart I have but one desire
And that one is you, no other will do
I've lost all ambition for worldly acclaim
I just want to be the one you love
And with your admission that you'd feel the same
I'll have reached the goal I'm dreaming of, believe me
I don't want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart
I don't want to set the world on fire, honey
I love you too much
I just want to start a great big flame down in your heart
You see, way down deep inside of me, darling
I have only one desire
And that one desire is you
And I know, baby, ain't nobody else gonna do
I've lost all ambition for worldly acclaim
I just want to be the one you love
And with your admission that you'd feel the same
I'll have reached the goal I'm dreaming of, believe me
I don't want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart

Leaders - "EVERYONE STAY CALM WE WILL FIGURE THIS OUT STAY IN YOUR HOMES"
Average Person - "Boy, I'd better call my family and tell them I love them."
Frightened Person - "guYS IT'S THE END OF THE worLDd WE ARE ALL GONINGNGN TO DIE RU N"
Fallout Fans - *Walks out of house slowly, eyes narrowed and iPhones taped to their wrists to act as a PipBoy. Every fan in the World is in sync as they tap a few things on their iPhones, and suddenly "I don't want to set the world on Fire" begins to play.
"The time has come." They all say in sync as they instantly go into somebody's home to steal their German Shepard.
