1982. I was a SrA in the USAF. War games at Macdill AFB, Tampa FL. Several of us working a hydraulic issue on a C-5. Finished up about 0100 hrs. Exhausted we shut the power down all just bedded down in the crew bunks and listened to the rain that was pounding on the fuselage. A Jet troop with a miniature boom box was able to pick up a local AM oldies station. It was the strangest thing but I felt like I was transported back to the Viet Nam era. Crazy what a mixture of ambience can play on you. This is awesomeā¦. TY! ā¤

Man must unsee and forget a lot of things to maintain his sanity in an insane society. There's so much power in the image of a gentleman of class maintaining his equanimity, and refusing to fight fire with fire. Far from "being a doormat", turning the other cheek and offering kindness, instead of trading blows, is a demonstration of being so far above what everyone expects everyone else to be like.
