To anyone who thinks Soyeon is not a good rapper, and her English raps are bad ... Being a rapper doesn't rely on being good at English. She is a Korean having an accent is not a sin..Her raps in Korean are work of art...her wordplay and lyrical ability is no joke....and her tone !! That's up to preference, that's subjective...imo that's what sets her apart from others in the industry...Soyeon has various tones she herself chooses to rap with... Listen to popstars KDA and Hann Alone in Winter.... Her tone is not the usual edgy, cutting ,bright, nasal type in it. It's like you wouldn't even recognise it's her at first. These are just examples...Also considering every other part there is to rapping, Soyeon is way above any other female idol rapper today in kpop..
At this moment, Soyeon is the best female rapper in k-pop....and that's not an opinion. It's just a fact. I am not saying this because I like her or anything, it's because I am a huge fan of rap in general. And she is indeed one of the bests out there.
If you want to debate more on that find me a female idol rapper who can do a 16 note to 32 note displacement flow or offbeat flows like Soyeon has done this year, for a advertisement called "Play Buldak''... I don't expect you to go and be in awe with Soyeon's rap after this. But think twice before you say someone else is the best female rapper in kpop. She deserves to be acknowledged for her skills and contributions to the rapping in kpop. Rap position in girl groups used to be for the ones who simply weren't that good at vocal or dance or the ones who were good at English or the ones who could talk fast... That changed because of Real Rappers like CL , Soyeon who redefined what being a rapper means by their skills and talent. So put some respect in her name.
