Everyone complaining about their "new sound" doesn't realize that most of the music was darker in subject because Brian and the band were younger and most likely dealt with darker subjects within their lives at that time. Brian is now married and has a child, the same references that inspired his lyrics back in the day are most likely no longer going be present in his life now. So why not just embrace the change rather than clinging to subject matter that is a decade + old. Artists are allowed to grow and branch out you know. That's what art is, growth and progression.

I do not understand many reviews complaining that this is a happy song, hahaha
That would be a problem? And this song is happy? I disagree, I feel a certain melancholy in the melody and in Brian's voice. The video is excellent, the drums are amazing, the music is engaging and the more I listen, the more I like it. Congratulations, Placebo!

on the beginning the voice said (wrong translation from Sardinian language):
"Custos contos, no ana ora, no ana prinzipiu e mai d'ana aere fine. Sempes, semmos istados" (Sardinian)
"This stories, have no time, no begin and they'll never end. We always have been"
"Queste storie non hanno tempo, non hanno principio e mai avranno una fine. Sempre, siamo stati" (italian)

The Video has been recorded in Sardinia, Italy. The masks in the video are called "Boes", meaning "bulls". They are part of the group "Boes e Merdules", from a little village called "Ottana", about 110km north of the Capital. "The Boes in their long horned wooden masks resembling the head of an oxen, and a striking array of bells of various sizes weighing up to 40kg across their chests. The Merdules, the masters of the bulls, in their twisted, almost horrific expressioned masks, carrying herding sticks and whips to control their Boes. Then there are two additional characters, Sa Filonzana (the weaver woman in black) and Su Porcu, the wild boar." They represent the struggle between our animal instinct and human reason. At the end of the parade, during the Carnival, the Boes are chased and flogged by the Merdules to finally start the fights. Anyway, whoever says the song and the video are for teenagers, boring and not good enough, should also read this comment and think about it deeply.
