I applaud Greg for the courage to allow his performance to be critiqued. I learned from performing on stage at the main theater at my local community college (classical guitar class semester program) to offer encouragement to anyone willing to share themselves with the public. I have nothing but the highest praise for you Greg and keep up the good work.

More of this format please. ā€œWeā€ are Greg....or at least I feel like a Greg. Iā€™m an intermediate player and this video helped shed light on my habits. Great lesson Stich!

Kudos to Greg for putting this out there to share with all of your viewers!! I suspect a lot of us are in a similar place with our playing. Sounded great. He had some good stuff going on.

What is awesome about this, is i probably learned a little more watching greg getting critiqued instead of a master trying to "show" me how easy it is. Greg has balls that i dont think mine will grow to. Good job greg, and i know it was hard to be critical in this setting as well stitch, you handled it with grace

I always tell students to record themselves and listen back to their solos. More often than not itā€™s on reflection that they realise a bunch of stuff they could have done different/better.

I like how you paid so much attention to what Greg was playing that you were able to duplicate it in your critique.

Iā€™ve come back to this video several times now because itā€™s been so incredibly helpful. Itā€™s really easy to lose perspective when consuming a ton of guitar content. I donā€™t have anyone to play with so the only basis for comparison I have is the teacherā€™s themselves. This is an incredibly high bar to measure my playing against. When I canā€™t immediately replicate what an instructor is doing it can get discouraging. Knowing that there are other players out there that are struggling with the same things I do is tremendously reassuring. Thanks again to the gentleman who shared this. Your humility has really helped keep me motivated.

Props to Greg for doing this, I was thinking back a few years ago before I started watching your videos Ian. I would have had no idea what you were talking about. Now it all makes sense to me. I was waiting for the root on the one, I heard the A on the four and heard the chord tones. Thanks Stich for all you do šŸ¤˜

Two words: "Robin Trower." In blues, bends can often be flat and sound good and bluesy, but once you overshoot and go sharp, there's less wiggle room. Great video, thanks!

You really are a great Teacher ā€¦. Youā€™re Obviously an extremely well versed, very confident player. The fact that you DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BE CONDESCENDING is one of your SUPERPOWERS as a Teacher. I hope you do this as long as you live. You are much Appreciated
