IF you ever hear the word " unsinkable " on a ship, GET OFF as quick as possible...

"You sir. So much for your unsinkable ship!" That would have been a great line in the right movie.

What a riveting conclusion! In 1976, the great oceanographer, Jacques Cousteau, found the wreck of the Britannic. It was about 8 miles from where it was thought to have sunk.

The intro is easily my favorite part of the movie. The theme song is just so good.

This is a nice film. I wish a film company would make a Britannic film more true to what really happened.

Don't ever call a ship "unsinkable." A ship may seem safe just because it has watertight bulkheads, but it can still sink no matter what.

The character of Vera had to be a tip of the cap to real-life nurse Violet Jessop, who survived the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, the Britannic in 1916 and was aboard the Olympic in 1911 when it collided with a British warship.

The acting & writing were great. A good story. Though the Britannic actual hit a mine that had been laid by a German submarine just the day before. The only people who died in the sinking were the occupants of one lifeboat that was sucked into one of the propellers (while it was still turning) and destroyed. Everyone else, including Miss Jessop, survived.

If I recall correctly, the 30 people that died from the propellers went into a lifeboat and went into the water prematurely, not like what was shown in the movie. The captain was trying to get to the shores as fast as he could which if you went into the water during that time, you could get sucked into the propellers but realizing that the boat was sinking and bringing more water in, he told his crew to stop the engines and abandoned ship, which is why the remaining passengers survived. Edit: I put "pillars" instead of the correct term "propellers", so thanks for pointing that one, much appreciated!

It's such a shame that Britannic never got the chance to live up to her true potential. Thankfully, the oldest sister of the three Olympic class liners lived a long and prosperous life and actually earned the title "unsinkable" and for good reason, too. It's such a shame, though, that the Olympic was scrapped. If you're like me and your fond of old ocean liners and ships, ESPECIALLY Titanic and her sisters, there's a heartbreaking photo of Olympic's scrapping where they're actually breaking down the grand staircase that really hits hard. Obviously, this movie is of Britannic and I veered off from what I originally planned to comment, but it's impossible to think of her without thinking of her two older sister ships. I think, had she not become a hospital ship during World War 1, she would have gone on to live a fantastic life and it's really unfortunate that she wasn't given that chance. For anyone who has never seen what Britannic's forward grand staircase looked like in comparison with Olympic or Titanic, the developers of "Titanic: Honor and Glory" made a similar (but smaller) demo featuring the Britannic (Britannic: Patroness of the Mediterranean) and the dark, rich, beautiful colors were very unexpected; I highly suggest anyone who hasn't seen it, take a look for themselves because it's honestly spectacular and somewhat backs up my "wasted potential" comment.

Even though there are inaccuracies, I loved this film since Middle School when I bumped into it years back. To those who hate this movie, let me remind you of a Titanic video game that holds a German spy putting a bomb onboard, killing a passenger, and other hiding secret plans, and yet I know a lot of enthusiasts who enjoys the game so literally. So take that for inaccuracies. Call it just a game, then we can call this a non literate good movie. Anyway, thanks for posting!

It was beyond belief that the hospital ship Britannic had been completely sabotaged by a member of the German military pretending to be one of the crew members of the ship.
