Paul London is one of the few "cruiserweights" or smaller, agile guys that actually gets it. Unfortunately, most wrestlers in that role and/or build tend to be marks (for lack of a better word) for "moves". It's cool seeing this when it appears that Paul was just starting his acting career which he continues in to this day.

This was a better convo than I expected. Love Raven but never thought London tried hard enough. This talk proved that the machine failed him, though. For every place he went, I guess none of them gave London a chance to just tell his story. In this, he came across as a legit fan and student of the game, who wanted to improve his game everyday.

Wowsa, Had Raven pegged kind of wrong as I had no idea he was so self aware. Really would have pegged him as one of those high IQ guys with a dark archeatype that allowed him to charge up off of getting more out of less effort, being able to manipulate most folks and capable of a ton but falls into escapism or sabatage if ego is challenged type thing. Would not have guessed he had such a high emotional IQ other than figuring out an angle or or how to get what he needs. Very insightful interview. While I loved the Raven character it did get stale near the end of his run, he needed to transition back into either color commentary, being a manager or even an authority figure for that character to have some sort of arc. This is probably the only interview he did where I found him rather likeable in real life the entire interview and a lot of that is because he called out things about himself that used to make me roll eyes, zone out or skip watching the rest. Mind you basing that off old rf shoot interviews back when it was super interesting to me to get to see behined the curtain and that is sadly closer to 20 years then 10 years ago so 😂

15:33 that was an uncomfortable greeting. Seemed like an attempt at a power-play, too. Ig that the Raven character is just that, a character, but one can't help feeling Scott as a real person shares several nasty or asocial traits with his alter-ego. Like, just be cool and give Paul a hug man, that's what he came for. At least treat him niceys the way you didn't Kidman.

6:30 I like London and think he's smart to the business and indeed to life in many ways, but to be a truly informed former wrestler he needs to read his Roland Barthes and also stop being so kneejerk homophobic. Presumably he's grown up a lot since the years when this was filmed.
