Legit, Ozempic saved my life. I'm diabetic but weighed over 600lbs. Oz helped me drop enough weight to finally get weight loss surgery. I've now lost 300lbs total and still going. I 100% needed it and thank God I could get it most of the time here in Australia.

It's the same stigma I recieved when I used OATs to get over heroin addiction. It's another agonist type treatment that people think is a "cheat code" towards sobriety. Sorry for taking medication that worked, saved my self, and got me back on track while all my friends died without if

Read an article yesterday about how this drug company could make a solid profit selling it for $2 an injection. They are selling it for over $1000/injection.

It suck because I know so many people who could actually benefit from this but they will never be able to afford it. Capitalism is shit and I hope we can one day do better

Currently I work as a Pharmacy Tech and this Ozempic trend is causing a shortage. Diabetics are having a hard time getting their prescription filled, same goes for Mounjaro

Gotten a prescription and my insurance won't cover it 😊 love that we let the insurance companies decide what medical treatments you do and don't need

I just started Ozempic about 2 months ago for both my type 2 diabetes and weight loss. Wanted weight loss surgery, but the only surgeon in my area retired last summer, and I don't have a way to travel for it, so this is my backup. So far, it's a slow burn and I'm only down like 8 lbs. But they did just raise my dose, so I'm hoping that makes a difference. People always think loosing weight is simple as "just don't eat as much", but it's not that simple. People who are obese are that way usually due to eating disorders, depression, sometimes thyroid issues, health problems that limit the person's mobility, etc. It's a definite double standard that if people see a person who is way too thin with an eating disorder, they feel sorry for them. But if it's someone with an eating disorder and they over eat making them obese, they get slack for being "lazy" or not knowing how to "put down the fork." Both sides deserve some empathy and understanding that they're going through something deeper.

I work in a pharmacy, you'd be amazed at how many people don't know what they're taking, and neither do their doctors. The doctors just hand it out, the people just take it, regardless of interactions or complications and both of them get mad at us for actually looking out for their health.

The issue is that there is such a shortage, especially in the UK(NHS) that people who actually DO need it, aren't able to be prescribed it because of all the people taking it privately.

I used to have an eating disorder in high school. I still work with a dietitian and get long term treatment because eating disorders often doesn't fully go away. As an adult, I'm starting to realize how much I fucked up my body. For example, my body doesn't send regular hunger signals. There is a decent chance that I won't be able to have biological children because my reproductive system was damaged during a crucial developmental period. So rapid weight loss can be very dangerous.

21:31 From someone who works in a pharmacy. I blame the manufacturers. All of the drugs mentioned and others that weren’t, are all commonly on back order. We have diabetic and actual obese patients who end up needing to start different therapies every other week because of back orders. Last note, I wouldn’t say it’s over prescribed for the regular person but it’s definitely become extremely common. All the injectables are fast movers

The issue is not having walkable cities, living in environments with cheap highly addictive foods.

As of February there was still a shortage of the medication, it is over prescribed in terms of what it’s stated purpose is. However the companies refuse to up production because they like keeping the price super high for profits. Production needs to be greatly increased, and diabetics should have first rights to the medication.

My issue with ozempic is it causes delayed gastric emptying. Many people are totally unaware of that, certian people are at a higher risk for a permanent form of this called gastroparesis. I have gastroparesis and am dependent on a central line due to it. I wish doctors would inform people of this its scary to see people willingly and happily taking without knowing the risk.

The reason i have stayed skinny my whole life is literally because I binge eat to such an extent that i get sick for several days and cant eat. I workout just because i want muscles not because it makes me healthy... to people I look really really healthy, but I am not. I am working through this everyday. This is such a tricky subject. @.@

I'm currently working towards dropping weight but I am exercising and monitoring what I eat. Yes I am dropping weight 1 to 2 pounds per week. It's slow but I'm healthy.
