I was born in 1982, and am "technically" a millennial (although I don't think I am, nor do I act like that). I listen to this song and weep for what could have been, musically, in my life. This song is a masterpiece. It entertains, tells a story, paints a picture, inspires, dazzles, confounds, practically makes you see the images and events. It has mesmerized me since the first time I heard it. Forty-three years later, it does the same to me. Timeless power to transport me to another place. Unfortunately, there hasn't been a single song in the last ten years minimum that can do that. Shows not only the excellent music of the 1970s, but how much music has deteriorated to the sorry condition it is today.
