This felt as a critique about fake naturalness. The grass and the bonsai both should be imperfect because they’re part of nature, yet they’re grown in a lab and cut to milimetric perfection.
Maybe a nod about how culture wants us to, you know “just be ourselves” as in “be natural”, but also wants us to be perfect according to its standards.
You’re all free of thinking something completely different from me, and Mattys intent may be something way different from what we all interpret, that’s the beauty of art.

i think it all comes back to the whole concept of bfifl, where matty stated that the album was about doing what they know best, being a band and making music, the same goes here, matty going back to being matty and not trumanblack anymore, and taking control of the whole narrative returning to their roots and doing what they do best, making music and being a band.

The concept of making it look like Matty is hard at work doing some scientific research only to reveal that he was just growing grass to kneel on for one picture is really funny to me. I love the symbolism.
