I was in the British army. I’ve fired more than 30,000 rounds from an L96, I can tell you right now the rifle mentioned is an SV98. Keep up the good work

Marks, this is not an l96, but an sv98 chambered for 7.62 x 54, look at the photos of both sniper rifles and compare them with the screenshot from the developers, the front sight is the same as on the sv98, but not on the l96

SV98 would be like the Mosin but compatible with better scopes. Same caliber, 7.62x54 rimmed.

Really hope it’s a new ammo type and that would fix with exotic. Would love both the sv-98 or the L96

My first thought was that it looks like a Boys ATR with that humongous muzzle break and that near identical front sight, but I don’t think that’d fit with the game so I doubt that’s it. They said it’d be exotic though and that’s certainly be exotic so who knows, maybe.

Ok so it’s a SV98 that’s cool. But why? Why do we need this gun when we have the VSD which is ranked at #2 next to DMR. Chambered in 7.62x54 we have the Mosin and VSD. Why add this versus something else? I just don’t get it.

I'm not the biggest gun buff but the circle iron sight and barrel are definitely good hints to what it is. I've looked at the sv98 and I'm not convinced that's it.
