His relationship with his dad is....so common among taiwanese/chinese people imo. I'm Taiwanese myself so for me that isn't at all surprising that he said that. My relationship with my dad is pretty different but really strained in other ways...At least his dad deep down seems to have appreciated it

found you i did listen to Dirty Beaches - Badlands back on March 2011 it was on the same month i listend to The Weeknd - House of Ballons ( His best Album for me for sure), i had a magazine which i used to buy every month it was Blitz, i'd love to read what was new out there and what was good...i did remember a few worlds on Dirty Beaches, funny thing i had it on cd and since summer that year my cd player on the car radio is with that cd stuck there :D since many years passed i forgot about it its kinda funny

I love this interview. He begins with the need to create layers to protect himself, but then shares a really personal detail about his strained relationship with his dad. Genuine moment.
