Mastic originally comes from some specific trees at Hios, Greece, it's the only place where it can grow correctly, it's very healthy for you. also for us it costs around 2-3€😅

This gum comes from the mastic tree that can only grow on the soil of the greek island "Chios". The package you got also has the classic mosaic pattern of a village of the island, "Πυργί" (Piryi) that is known to have a big production of mastic (that pattern is on every building of the village). Mastic has also many medicinal properties and is used to make sweets and liquor both of which I highly recommend.

No. I know this gum's taste and texture very well,it is extracted from a bush on my island,it is very aromatic, and actually not pricey in Greece...Also it is not going to harm you,if it is an authentic mastic gum,it actually has some health benefits if swallowed, and helps stomach and digestive system
