Holy shit. I was at this show. 🥹 As is evident, you guys were incredible and I was so into it. I was massive fangirl status with my thigh-high black and white striped stockings on, belting my heart out along with each song.
I have one regret that comes partnered with this memory. With my boyfriend at the time, I lingered after the show, hoping to meet you both to let you know how much your music meant to me, but I ultimately was too shy and my social anxiety won out. 🥲 Hoping I will get the chance to see the two of you perform live again in the not so distant future!

This song is one one of your most powerful works I think.
I’ve written full on essays on it, why it’s actually a pro-trans pro-womens rights message.
I wish people analyzed the lyrics a little deeper here. The double
entendre, the use of second person language, the dual meaning of the title, the speaker being (in my eyes) the voice of society- everything comes together so artfully.
So much meaning in just one song.

First of all: what is this song about? I think everyone could give it a different meaning.
And second of all: I heard The Dresden Dolls for the first time, like ten years ago, when in Mexico existed a magazine named Grita!, They constantly talk about the Dresden Dolls, until I finally heard them and I was instantly in love with the old classic, Coin Operated Boy, but this song is also one of my favorites.
I still have the dream of seeing them live, maybe one day.
But if not, I hope one day Amanda comes to play in Mexico City.

I remember hearing this in Manchester (UK) at around the same time & I still don't think I've heard a drum kit sound as thunderous as that show 🌟
