I remember hearing this in Manchester (UK) at around the same time & I still don't think I've heard a drum kit sound as thunderous as that show 🌟

I was 10 years old seeing you guys live with my mommy in Virginia right around this time. Literally a magical time, one of my favorite concert experiences to this day, you guys put on an amazing show with Two Ton Boa it was wild. You guys will always be my favorite band ❤️

Please come back! I was 9 when I discovered your self titled album from 2003. I miss you two! I’ve never seen y’all in concert but you both inspired me as a artists myself. Are you guys doing anything in LA? I’m there often and would fly out just to see you both! 🖤🖤🖤

Holy shit. I was at this show. 🥹 As is evident, you guys were incredible and I was so into it. I was massive fangirl status with my thigh-high black and white striped stockings on, belting my heart out along with each song. I have one regret that comes partnered with this memory. With my boyfriend at the time, I lingered after the show, hoping to meet you both to let you know how much your music meant to me, but I ultimately was too shy and my social anxiety won out. 🥲 Hoping I will get the chance to see the two of you perform live again in the not so distant future!

This song is one one of your most powerful works I think. I’ve written full on essays on it, why it’s actually a pro-trans pro-womens rights message. I wish people analyzed the lyrics a little deeper here. The double entendre, the use of second person language, the dual meaning of the title, the speaker being (in my eyes) the voice of society- everything comes together so artfully. So much meaning in just one song.

First of all: what is this song about? I think everyone could give it a different meaning. And second of all: I heard The Dresden Dolls for the first time, like ten years ago, when in Mexico existed a magazine named Grita!, They constantly talk about the Dresden Dolls, until I finally heard them and I was instantly in love with the old classic, Coin Operated Boy, but this song is also one of my favorites. I still have the dream of seeing them live, maybe one day. But if not, I hope one day Amanda comes to play in Mexico City.
