My favorite show of all time growing up in the 60s. I have the entire DVD collection (1966-1971) that is encased in a coffin shaped box, the 1991 DVD version with Ben Cross, and the Original Dark Shadows TV Music Soundtrack ABC LP Album from 1969. Dan Curtis the creator of Dark Shadows is from my hometown of Bridgeport, CT. I guess I'm just a Dark Shadows Fanatic.

This was my favorite show.. Until Quinten's first transformation into a Werewolf. I had nightmares that week and my parents banned me from watching it for almost a month.

It was one of the first tv shows i watched when i was tiny... like 4 or 5. (The other was star trek tos). I love it to this day! I have the cookbook.

This was an early attempt at making a horror drama for television. I think, for the most part, it still holds up today. Among the many things that work against it, however, I include a glacial plot that could have moved faster and spotty dialog that can be banal at one moment and insightful the next. It seemed to be very uneven at times, especially when Barnabas was not on screen. For me he steals every scene, and there were elements in it that shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer later copied in many ways even if they probably did so without realizing it. I may be in a minority, but I loved the movie with Depp. It's loaded with rewatch potential and it's got freaking ALICE COOPER and a werewolf (which really should have been give a couple of more scenes just for her).

My dad used to close his shop for lunch so everyone could watch Dark Shadows. He also raised me on it...because of that I have never seen the Tim Burton version nor will I ever. Keep up the magnificent work. This is one of our favorite channels.
