I'm looking forward to finding time to start Empire of the Damned this month, and my new J.R. Ward.
I really do plan to read a Joe Abercrombie at some point this year. Only time will tell when I get to that.
My sister gave me a box of Dritz months ago, and I kept it near my couch as an incentive but got a bit distracted with a different fantasy character named Fitz and this world of the Elderlings... This is the second time I've seen Homeland in a video in the last couple of days. I will take it as another nudge to read it sooner rather than later.
I don't think you need to know about DnD imo.
Happy Birthday Month to you, Becca!!!

I LOVE Drizzt! Guenhwyvar is BAE forever. πI never would have gotten into DnD without the Legend of Drizzt Saga. You are correct that this is an extended universe that's broken up into smaller story arcs like Realm of the Elderlings. RA Salvatore started with the Icewind Dale Trilogy, which is more of an ensemble cast story although Drizzt plays a major role. But Drizzt was so popular that Salvatore went back and wrote his origin story The Dark Elf trilogy, which begins with Homeland. I started with Homeland since it was first in the chronology and was perfectly happy with that choice by the time I got to The Crystal Shard (Icewind Dale #1). If you google TL Branson he's got a fantastic breakdown of the Drizzt series and its reading order (both the main books and other Forgotten Realms story arcs where Drizzt cameos or drops in as a secondary character).
As for my most anticipated May read... anything that's not college related! πΉWe'll see which book I'm in the mood for first once the semester ends, although I'm eyeing Enemy Within by Tal Bauer in particular atm... π

I loved Daughter of No Worlds. Deffinilty a really good fantasy read. Little bit of romance but the book is more about her and her journey.
